Cake decorating class in Hongdae, Seoul

Hongdae is a famous Korean spot known for its nightlife, street performers, and its wide range of eateries. But what other activities are there to do? Why not dive into your creative side with a session of cake decorating?

Join Gamjungsun Baking for a creative adventure across Hongdae, Yongsan, Seongsu, and Songpa. They offer more than just cakes to decorate, think madeleines and financiers too.

How does a class work?

Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a warm introduction to the tools of the trade and optional add-ons like extra colours, sprinkles, and glitter.

The session kicks off with a quick guide on timing — expect around one and a half hours of pure fun. Creaming takes up 30 minutes, decorating another 30, and the rest is for transitioning and socialising (or more decorating if you're feeling inspired).

If you ever get stuck, don't worry! There's a handy step-by-step guide to keep you on track during your session.

Getting stuck in

First up, creaming... Let's just say, after 20 minutes of struggling, I might have needed a bit of help. But hey, that's what the pros are for. It’s an additional add-on for help but, they'll waive the fee if you share your experience on social media.

Now onto the fun part, decorating! As someone who's more into equations than art, I surprised myself.

This class welcomes everyone, whether you're a baking novice or a seasoned pro. It's an absolute blast — I can't wait to go back for the madeleines and financiers.
