Yangyang - Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
If Yangyang’s fans are anything like him, they’re youthful, full of energy, and love to crack jokes. ‘Six of Crows’ is a story of friendship, adventure, and often heartbreaking moments.
The Crows are a gang of thieves that are prepared to go against the Grisha, the other gangs of Ketterdam, and their own bad luck to pull off the biggest heist in history. Despite being the youngest of the group, Yangyang seems to be as loyal to his friends as the Crows are to each other. Yangyang’s attention to detail in his choreography is similar to Kaz Brekker’s meticulous mind, while his quick witted humour is reflective of Nina Zenik’s boisterous attitude. All of these factors point towards ‘Six of Crows’ being an essential read for Yangyang’s fans.
Hendery - Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
Hendery is obsessed with video games. So it’s only right to recommend his fans a book about video games.
Sam and Sadie meet each other in a hospital and bond over their joint love of video games. After losing contact, they see each other again years later in a train station and decide to create their own video games together. Hendery’s creativity, determination, and love for video games make this book the perfect match for his fans. Hendery’s go to activity with WayV is playing games, which reflects his youthful personality and is playful just like this novel. His hard working attitude is admirable but he knows when to kick back and take a break!
Xiaojun - Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton
Xiaojun is caring and understands the complexities of emotions making ‘Everything I Know About Love’ the perfect read for his fans.
In this autobiographical novel, Dolly Alderton walks us through the chaos of her twenties and the lessons that she learnt about love, both romantic and platonic. The slice of life novel doesn’t try to tell you how to live your life but is grounded in reality similarly to how Xiaojun appears. This book is like a warm hug after a tough day and is a reminder that showing up for your friends is sometimes the most important form of love. Xiaojun radiates a similar warmth to the feeling of reading this book. Life may not always go the way you want it to but Xiaojun is taking the uncertainty one day at a time.
Winwin - The Joy of Small Things by Hannah Jane Parkinson
‘The Joy of Small Things’ is a collection of short essays about cherishing what may seem like the irrelevant parts of life. Winwin seems like a guy that would stop to smell the roses and take every little joy as the most important part of his day. From reading a book on the beach to finding the perfect fluffy dressing gown, it's often the understated things that make us feel the best. As the quietest member of this frequently chaotic group, Winwin is the understated joy of WayV matching this book excellently.
Ten - Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami
A book that contains talking cats is the only recommendation right for a fan of Ten. As a self-proclaimed cat dad, Ten’s recommendation needed to include cats and in ‘Kafka on the Shore’, cats are central to the magic. Whilst on the surface this book may seem like a simple story about a runaway teenager and a man that can talk to cats, the more you delve into Murakami’s world the more questions you will have. Murakami’s focus on magical realism adds layers to his complex story leaving you muddled between reality and fantasy. Similarly, Ten is a multifaceted performer that will leave you wondering how he moves in that way.
Kun - The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Since Kun is good at absolutely everything, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if he’d studied Latin and Greek mythology like the elite group of friends from ‘The Secret History’. If you’re a fan of Kun, you may be attracted by his intelligence and therefore, you will likely enjoy the dark academia aesthetic of this novel. However, there’s a sinister undertone to the book making it all the more captivating. While Kun may not have a sinister side to him, he would definitely enjoy discussing your opinions on this book.
