BTS Jin to mark return from military with special in-person FESTA
To the delight of ARMY, the BTS member will perform on the group’s debut anniversary following his return from mandatory military service.

Expected to return from his military service in June, the eldest member of the seven-piece South Korean boy group will hold an in-person FESTA Event at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul.
According to a notice by Weverse, Kim Seok-jin, known professionally as Jin, wishes to ‘spend meaningful time with ARMY in person on BTS’s debut day.’ During the FESTA’s First Session: Jin’s Greetings, Jin will spend intimate time with the group’s fans in attendance by sharing a hug with lucky winners of a raffle available to those who purchased albums (including solo albums) released after ‘Proof’ on Weverse Shop GLOBAL.
Those who do not wish for a hug can replace it with a handshake instead, and BIGHIT MUSIC assures fans that ‘every precautionary measure will be put in place to ensure no unpleasant incidents occur during the event.’
In the Second Session: “Message from Jin : June 13 2024,☀️” the BTS member will showcase performances sought after by ARMY. This will be Jin’s first live performance since he joined Coldplay at their concert in Buenos Aires where he performed “The Astronaut”, co-written by the British rock band.
While the first part of the FESTA will not be live streamed, the second part will be available for streaming on Weverse exclusively for those with an ARMY MEMBERSHIP.
BTS FESTA is an annual event celebrated by both BTS and fans of the group to mark their debut which occurred on June 13, 2013. For the ten years prior to this special 11th anniversary FESTA, all members of the group (RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) have attended as a septet. As a result of the six other members still completing their mandatory military service at the time of the event, Jin will be performing solo.
Military service is mandatory for all South Korean males once they turn 18 years of age and lasts for 18-21 months. While Jin will return from his service in June, 2024, the group will only be at full strength in 2025.
The 2024 FESTA In-Person Event with BTS Jin will take place at the Jamsil Arena in Jamsil Sports Complex, Songpa-gu, Seoul. First Session: Jin’s Greetings will kick off at 3 pm and Second Session: “Message from Jin : June 13 2024,☀️” will commence shortly after at 8 pm.
