[Review] (G)I-DLE 'I SWAY': Hit the “Klaxon”, it’s time for Summer!
Following the success of their second studio album 2 earlier this year, (G)I-DLE’s latest mini album I SWAY delivers the quintessential summer vibes that all K-pop fans are bound to add into their playlists.

The lead single, “Klaxon,” immediately grabs attention with its catchy hook ‘I love you baby,’ which is reminiscent of Frankie Valli's classic "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." The music video is shot in the streets of Thailand and features Pattaya beach only adding to the summery vibe.
The repetition of the lyric ‘honk’ also encapsulates the fun and energetic vibe of the track, making it an instant summer hit.
“Klaxon” isn’t just a catchy summer anthem — it subtly challenges traditional notions, something (G)-IDLE are known for. The lyrics “Hey, look at me, lady” and “Hey, hop in, sweetie boy” suggest a more inclusive perspective, moving away from the common hetero theme in love songs.
This progressive approach adds a further meaning to the song, highlighting the group’s commitment to breaking boundaries in music.
“Last Forever,” the second track, shifts gears with a more stripped-back, power ballad approach. Sung primarily in English, the song highlights the group’s versatility and strong vocal abilities. This track was written and composed by member Yuqi, and is sure to be a favourite amongst die-hand Neverland.
The heartfelt lyrics speak to the desire to make passion and love last forever, a theme that resonates deeply with listeners. Soyeon’s rap in the second verse adds a unique twist, enhancing the emotional depth of the song. The minimalist instrumental arrangement allows the members' voices to shine, creating a poignant and memorable track.
Continuing the emotive theme, “Bloom” serves as another power ballad that accentuates the vocal prowess of (G)I-DLE. The dreamy, soft tones of the track beautifully showcase the group’s harmonious synergy and vocal strength, with Shuhua’s and Miyeon’s vocals particularly standing out.
