The “Cupid” viral stars are showing no signs of stopping, thanks to their latest record label partnership.

K-pop stars FIFTY FIFTY (composed of members SAENA, SIO, ARAN, and KEENA) and their mega-viral hit “Cupid” have utterly charmed social media, and now the four girls are heading Stateside. To amplify the success of their single, the girl group have partnered with iconic record label Warner Records.

These days, it’s almost impossible to avoid the catchy hooks and sugary-sweet tones of the FIFTY FIFTY girls. The Warner partnership confirms they have taken the world by storm, with “Cupid” generating over 12 billion TikTok views, 377 million streams globally, and breaking Billboard records.

This is due, in part, to the track’s multiple versions (one in Korean, one in English, and an instrumental), but it is mostly thanks to its perfectly polished, poppy, sentimental sound.

K-pop is a worthy investment

Warner Records is a US-based, globally renowned music label, home to artists such as Dua Lipa, K-pop songwriting favourite Bebe Rexha, Michael Bublé, Omar Apollo, and Rich Brian. And they clearly have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the music industry.

Warner Records seem to be recognising the power of K-pop, also representing SM Entertainment’s Aespa in their American activities. And now, their partnership with FIFTY FIFTY over “Cupid” shows that K-pop idols are — more than ever — worthy investments that deserve international acclaim. The girl group responded in kind, expressing delight at their upcoming work.

“We are so honoured to be working with Warner Records, and we are excited to see what the future holds for us. We are looking forward to bringing more great music and content to our fans around the world. Thank you for your continued support and love,”

Warner Records’ Tom Corson and Aaron Bay-Schuck (co-Chairmen and COO/CEO, respectively) have described FIFTY FIFTY as a “powerhouse” in K-pop, and the collaboration aims to “create additional opportunities” for the group as they access an even wider audience.

Ahn Sungil (co-CEO of ATTRAKT Creative Content Group) has also displayed his thanks and his excitement towards the project: “We are grateful to Warner Records for the opportunity to discuss innovative ways to bring FIFTY FIFTY to the forefront of the music industry,” he expressed.

Ahn noted that Warner Records provided new “avenues for success” in a way that paralleled the “artist-centred approach” that ATTRAKT aims to take when creating and managing its talent.

Only time will tell what impact the partnership will have, and what FIFTY FIFTY will have in store for their fans, dubbed HUNNIES (as reported in a previous Cherry Chu article). The four-piece are likely feeling the pressure to deliver after such global success, but with such support, the sky's the limit — no matter what they come up with next!
