IU speculated to change H.E.R Wembley tour date to no longer coincide with Taylor Swift
With no ticket sale confirmation for IU’s upcoming world tour in London, fans speculate the artist may be forced to change the date or venue of her long-awaited performance.
On January 16, 2024, Korean singer IU announced the H.E.R World Tour Concert with several locations including London, England.
Having debuted in 2008 at the age of 15 with her first EP “Lost and Found”, the H.E.R World Tour Concert will mark IU’s first world tour and first time performing for fans in The U.K.
Described by NME as “pop perfection that’s a privilege to watch”, IU kicked off her world tour in Seoul in March, following the release of her latest single “Love Wins All”.
Seven months prior to IU’s announcement, Taylor Swift took to X to share with fans new international tour dates for The Eras Tour. Following big names such as Madonna, Elton John, Beyoncé, and Korean boy group BTS, Taylor Swift will perform at Wembley Stadium in London on the same night as IU’s prospective performance at the stadium’s sister arena OVO Arena Wembley.
Several fans took to Twitter to express their concerns regarding the clash of performance dates for the two female soloists, as many fans aspire to witness both concerts but would miss the opportunity should both fall at the same time.
Amidst the online panic of fans, OVO Arena Wembley removed IU’s H.E.R World Tour Concert information from their website in March, leading to more uncertainty and confusion regarding the tour date.
Despite the prospective tour date being only two months away, at the time of writing, neither OVO Arena Wembley nor IU’s team have posted confirmation of the date and location for the London performance leading fans to speculate that the concert may be moved to a different venue or changed to a later date.
IU is set to perform at the OVO Arena Wembley, London, on 21 June, 2024.
